Merry Christmas!

I'm so excited! My sweet husband got me a new camera for Christmas!

Now I can blog with pictures again! And video too, this camera takes great videos. I hope to have one to share soon. In the meantime, here is a photo of my 'lil girlies.

A Merry and BLESSED Christmas to you all! I pray you all enjoy celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior with your families!

Preparing for Christmas

Wow, it sure has been a while since I blogged! Unfortunatly I spent the entire month of November sick. I won't go into the whole long story because I am just praising God that I feel very good today and am back to life as usual. I will say that my girls and husband have been so wonderful taking care of me and the house and all that needed doing here at home.

Today we are getting back to our furniture moving project! The bedrooms are at the point where we can begin moving the furniture today. The girls are so excited and so am I! This morning after breakfast we'll move the beds. Then after I wash and braid the girls hair (if my energy level is as high as I think it is, LOL!) we will then move the toy boxes and other things. This project might take another day or two to finish, but just getting it going again is a happy thing for us.

We will be getting some much needed school work done in the week ahead. Then we will start Christmas preperations. Since I was sick for such a long time, we won't be doing as many things as I had hoped this year, but we are just praising God that we will be together as a family and enjoy celebrating the Lord's birth together.

I hope everyone is enjoying a blessed holiday season!

Two Days After Christmas

Praying everyone had a blessed and wonderful Christmas. So much has been going on here that I haven't been online very much lately. The week before Christmas my husband was sick so most of my time was spent taking care of him and of course my 'lil girls. He recovered pretty quickly but a week ago I came down with the same sickness and mine did not begin to vanish until today. I spent Christmas Day in the Urgent Care center. Praise God, I am doing a lot better now and we are slowly getting our house back in order. It's amazing what Christmas and a sick Mama will do to make a house quite messy! My girls were wonderful about helping out all they knew how and now my two oldest are sick and I am doing my best to take care of them as I continue to recover. They spent the morning watching cartoons which I finished off the Christmas cards. So much going on I never did get them out on time. We still need to bake the rest of our cookies too and probably will do that next week.

Despite all the illness we did have a nice Christmas. We celebrated two days early because my husband was going to be working Christmas (who knew he'd have to take the day off to take me to the doctor!). My girls enjoyed their gifts and having lots of time to just relax with mommy and daddy which we don't often have.

Well, little one is napping now so I should go rest up a little while I have time.

Holiday Time

I can't believe it's been so long since I have posted here. We have been so busy lately I rarely find time to sit and enjoy any time on-line unless it's to pay some bills or search for information for the girls for school. Today we are taking a much needed break. The girls are happily playing in the front room and I am taking a little time to unwind before we have lunch.

We are late in starting our Christmas preparations this year. Next week we will be putting up our decorations and making cookies. Dh has to work on Christmas and Christmas eve this year so we will celebrate a couple days early.

My girls are going to be singing in a Christmas Program on Sunday so if I can get my video camera to work right I will try to get it uploaded to YouTube so I can share it here. I can't wait to see them, they love to sing!

I haven't even mailed any Christmas cards yet or bought any gifts. I was telling my husband I feel kind of stressed due to those things still needing to be done and he had to gently remind me that those things are not what Christmas is all about anyhow and to just do what I am able and the rest will just have to wait. It is so true, we get all caught up in the holiday spirit often forgetting the real reason we are celebrating.

Just in case I don't get back here before Christmas, may you all have a lovely and blessed Christmas with those you love.

In Him,

Christmas Planning

Ok, ok... I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet. But I am one of those people that waits till the last minute every year to start thinking about Christmas.

We try to keep things simple and make sure our children remember the real reason for Christmas. One thing I like to emphasize to them is that we should take more joy in giving than in receiving. So this year I thought it would be nice to find something we could bless family and friends with that would be fairly simple to make (handmade gifts are always best!) and not too expensive either.

I saw these in a magazine the other day and thought we might just make them. I'm hoping to find some really pretty boxes to package them in. Of course we will decorate them nicely was well! It's a really easy recipe and they look SO GOOD! :0)
